AirSponge is So Sponge’s passive product range: humidity control solutions that operate without electricity, without consumables and without maintenance. The patented mesoporous material adsorbs water vapor when relative humidity exceeds approximately 60%, then releases it naturally as the air dries, maintaining stable moisture balance in enclosed spaces. In a field test conducted in partnership with CAPSA using non-insulated 10-foot shipping containers, AirSponge tape maintained indoor humidity below 80% continuously, preventing the “container rain” phenomenon, for nearly one year with no degradation in performance. A comparative climate chamber test also demonstrated that AirSponge completely eliminates condensation inside IP66-rated waterproof enclosures, where a standard pressure compensating plug fails. The range is available in three formats: Enclosures for electronic housings and junction boxes, Surface for large surface area applications, and Inside, a licensing program for third-party product integration.
